Safe Search With New Google Encrypted Search Engine
In my previous article, I explained about how useful encryption can be in surfing web and how does TOR Browser comes to our rescue. One thing that most of you must have noticed while googling on the web should be that google has changed a bit. Earlier if you opened www.google.com you ended up at www.google.co.uk or www.google.co.de depending upon your country. But a few months back it all changed and changed for good. Opening google landed up at https://www.google.com. If not you can directly go to the url https://www.google.com. Notice that it’s “https” and not “http”. Also the google page image looks like this
and if you type your keywords and press search you land up searching at https://www.encrypted.google.com.
This means that google search is now encrypted. WOAH ENCRYPTION!!!
Encryption as you know is closing your data in a box that can only be opened by the desired person who has got the desired key. This ensures that even if the box is stolen by pirates, they cannot even look what’s inside.

Google uses SSL(Secure Sockets Layer) a service which encrypts anything before it sends it. This is used mostly by websites that enable purchasing online or banks for e-banking to protect username, password and others details from being seen by third party viewers…..you know what I mean.
Why Does Searching Google Requires Encryption?Hmmm….good question though. What will any random person in this world get from knowing that I am searching for ‘Pamela Anderson’ on the internet. We all feel that what point it makes to hide something that is not worth stealing. Well he won’t get anything from that but suppose you are an important person undertaking an important project for your company or business, then what. He’ll be able to know what you are searching and be able to steal confidential details and information concerning your project and what if tells it to your competitor, like telling Apple about the secret searches and confidential project servers of Microsoft, then what???
SSL ensures that the search is not stored in auto fill history as it is encrypted and search terms cannot be found anywhere in your computer cache data.
Again Is It 100% Secure ?Nothing is perfect and so is this. As you would have seen in the image logo it clearly states ‘BETA’ which means it’s still under research and further development. You won’t see links to Image Search because SSL doesn’t support it right now. When the first beta version was launched google takes little more time than before and show more numbers of result. This is because encrypting the terms takes time. But the leggy experience doesn’t mean bad Google, it’s still the same old one with better security. But now a days when you search with encrypted google search its takes little less time and little less result then the conventional search or vice – versa depending upon searched the keyword.
